I built this 12 1/2 ft custom furniture-style dog kennel and I LOVE IT!
I built this so that four of the medium crate trays fit inside to protect the wood floor from accidents. The floor and top are stained with Bombay Mahogany. If the floor ever needs to be replaced, each plank can easily be removed because they’re not screwed down. All of my materials came from McCoy's Building Supply.
This was a challenging project because of the rebar and doors. I struggled with free-hand drilling thru 2x4’s and making the holes straight (since I don’t have a drill press). The doors were also a bit of a struggle with measuring multiple times, cutting, measuring again, and trimming to fit and align in the opening. Between each kennel, I made partitions that can be opened or closed. So my dogs can share the entire 12 feet or I can give them each their own space.
And now….all the ugly wire crates are out of my house!
