Chongqing: Floating City In the Clouds | This Chinese City Looks Like a Sci-fi Dream

Описание: Chongqing, located in southwest China on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is known as an industrial base. The city's topography is dominated by hills and mountains, accounting for 76% of its area. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides and the Jialing River merges with the Yangtze River here, earning Chongqing the nicknames "mountain city" and "river city". Due to limited diffusion, humid air saturates and forms dense fog in Chongqing.

Chongqing has a subtropical humid monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. From October to April, frequent foggy days occur in Chongqing. With over 100 foggy days per year on average, it is nicknamed "Fog City". In comparison, London only experiences around 94 foggy days annually. Bishan County within Chonqging's jurisdiction boasts Yunwu Mountain which sees up to 204 foggy days each year.

When a city that combines landscapes and waters encounters vast clouds and mistiness，it becomes ethereal like floating among clouds. Chengdu appears hidden beneath clouds during heavy fogs，giving a sense of being above the clouds. Clouds and mist envelop buildings, bridges over rivers, and mountains，creating an elusive atmosphere. Caijia Jialing River Bridge and Caijia Rail Bridge appear like mirages in morning fog; trains traverse through winding paths amidst beautiful landscape paintings; high-rise buildings blend with mist-shrouded mountains resembling a fairyland...

As the sun rises through thin fog without glaring brightness，a faint light awakens life within the mountains. Towering peaks, colorful leaves,and winding mountain roads traverse through mist creating breathtaking beauty that brings joy to people's hearts.
