The Kangaroo Care method is defined as: ‘Early, prolonged, and continuous skin-to-skin contact between a mother and her newborn low birth-weight infant (less than2500 g, viz. preterm and/or low birth weight infant), both in hospital and after early discharge, with (ideally) exclusive breastfeeding, and proper follow-up’1.
