2000 Cobra R at the Track!

Описание: Ride along as I coach a 22 year old son drive his father's modified 2000 Cobra R for his very 1st track event ever! It was an amazing 2-day event that culminated with me piloting the car for a bucket-list track session! I have a low-mile creampuff 00R that lives a cushy life in my garage, so an opportunity to drive one at the track was absolutely fantastic! These cars have no traction control or stability control. Mods on this one include coil overs, cross brace, bushings, refreshed engine with higher compression, head and valve work, True Trac rear differential with custom cooler, 6 point roll cage and Bassani side exhaust. Filmed at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Texas and hosted by Chin Track Days. The video starts with my student behind the wheel, building confidence and speed. We get into some slides/skids and end up going off track backwards at one point. A bit later, there was a GT350 ahead with smoke coming from the engine compartment. I got him black flagged to come in due to the problem. It turned out the driver added oil and forgot to put the fill cap back on! His engine was puking out oil around the track coating his engine bay. Fortunately we got him in before oil starvation or an engine bay fire! The video finishes with me piloting the 00R around the track... learning what gear works best where, the brakes and the grip. I show my complete best lap time.
