Home Alone was such a big part of my childhood. And let's be honest, I still make a point to watch it and Home Alone 2 every Christmas season. As an adult I can see how cheesy the movies are, but to me they’re a perfect blend of fun and nostalgia.

Since I was a kid, the scene where Kevin preps the house for the Wet Bandits is by far the highlight of the movie for me. Even after all these years, the moment the music starts, I feel I'm right there with Kevin, rooting for him and laughing at the sheer creativity of his traps. It's just so ridiculous, and I love it.

The music sets the tone for the scene perfectly to me and from the start I had a specific vision for this map. I wanted the player to have the feeling of conducting an orchestra. I wanted the map to be smooth and flowing, with big movements and wrist rolls. I know I say this a lot, but this project was so much fun to make and I love how the map turned out.

Up to now, all my Easy and Normal maps have exclusively used the cardinal directions because that's what the BSMG Wiki recommended. But after talking with Spartplat (see my Normal difficulty video for more info), I decided to change that up a bit. I didn't add a ton of diagonals for Easy, since I still want my son to be able to play it (and he can get flustered with diagonals). But Spartplat made a good point that I'm making Easy maps, not tutorial maps. Most people playing custom maps will actually have some experience in OST Beat Saber, so my maps don't have to be as easy as those ones. I think the map is interesting, and my son can play it well, so I'm happy with the balance I've struck.
