Watch me join the local fisherman catch fish on the shores at the Miramar beach ( Caranzalem beach).
It was an experience of a lifetime for me to be a part of the traditional fishing practice of the Ramponkars of Caranzalem.
The time, effort, unity and brotherhood that goes into this fishing practice is amazing.
It is a very tiring job and the fruit of their labour is the wide variety of fishes that are caught and sold on the spot and the bigger lot is sold in the local fish market.
We started pushing the boat into the sea waters at around 9.30 am and the net was pulled out at 1.30pm.
There was a wide variety of fishes caught viz. Mackerals, Prawns, Crabs, Sole fish, Cat fish, Pomfrets, Red snapper, King fish, some small local varieties.
