The upcoming God of War title for PS4 is a drastic deviation from the roots of the series. Kratos has turned into a three-dimensional character, the classic hack & slash gameplay gives way to a completely new combat system, and the fixed camera angles are replaced by a free camera, more up-close and personal.
But why did Santa Monica feel the need to change God of War so radically? I believe, the new direction of God of War was inevitable and ultimately is a positive development rather than a negative one.
