"This Year" by the Mountain Goats has been a survival anthem song for as long I've known it, and in this video I wanted to unpack a bit of not only what that means for me but which other songs in the Mountain Goats extensive canon hit on similar themes. I collaborated with my friend Emerald to create a compilation of live performances of some of the best of those songs and to talk about what they mean to them, featuring @Schmowd3r. Happy New Year!
