This February marks the 100th anniversary of celebrating Black History and the collective contributions and achievements of people throughout the African Diaspora.
Join us as we explore Black History and the Black Immigrant Experience through Fiction with Dr. Myriam J. A. Chancy!
Dr. Chancy is the author of several academic books, including "Harvesting Haiti: Reflections on Unnatural Disasters" and "Framing Silence: Revolutionary Novels by Haitian Women."
She will discuss her career as a Haitian Canadian immigrant in America, the contribution of Haitians to global life, the history of Haitians in the United States, and her latest award-wining novel, "Village Weavers," which confronts the silences around class, race, and nationality.
Dr. Chancy will be interviewed by QPL's Doris Jones and Selina Sharmin.
