Canada's Stock Market Doesn't Work When America Is Closed - 40 Years of Sovereignty Loss

Canadian financial institutions - from portfolio managers to the Big 5 banks - are betting on America, not Canada.

What this means:

Canadian asset prices are determined by American market psychology, not Canadian economic fundamentals. If the S&P 500 crashes, the TSX crashes - regardless of Canadian company performance. Canada has no circuit breaker. No independent valuation. No economic defense. TD has $40 billion in US commercial real estate exposure. If that market collapses, Canadian depositors feel it.
