Hong Kong is an extremely convenient town and with even a 9 hours layover, you can have a wonderful day there.

1. Take the Airport Express to Hong Kong station. (Only 24 min)
2. Right on top of the HK station, you can visit the IFC, and nearby The Landmark, some of Hong Kong’s best shopping malls if you like to shop.
3. Then here comes the highlight of the day: Victoria Peak! You are there for a wonderful bird’s eye view of the city. You may take the peak tram but I actually recommend you take the double decker bus (number 15) from Exchange Square or taxi/Uber. Sit up front on the top floor. The ride to the peak is an adventure for many. You may take the famous tram down, the line going down is much shorter. Or go up by the tram and take the bus/Uber down. Either way, try both if you have time!
4. After coming down from the peak, take a taxi or walk to Central Ferry pier (5 min by car) and cross Victoria Harbour to Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side by the star ferry. It’s the absolute best and most scenic way to cross the harbour. Walk around the shops st Canton Road, the Avenue of the Stars, the Peninsula Hotel, K11 Musea (the most beautiful shopping mall in HK in my opinion) and Nathan Road. If you happen to be by the promenade at 8PM, there’s a light show every night!
5. From there you can take a taxi or walk to Kowloon Station and take the AirPort Express back to the airport.
