Описание: How are visual and object representations affected by neural injury? In their study analyzing the re-organization of visual representations in an agnosic patient impaired in object recognition following a lesion to the right lateral fusiform gyrus, Sabine Kastner and colleagues show that functional neural plasticity is possible even when a cortical lesion is sustained in adulthood. Their findings also demonstrate a critical role for this brain region in object recognition and reveal widespread consequences for remote parts of cortex. Read more in Konen et al., Neuron 71(1).
