On May 20th, 1927, following the loss of six lives in its pursuit, a prize offered for any pilot who could fly nonstop from New York to Paris had been claimed by Charles Lindbergh, an American aviator and Longines man. The impact of that moment on the lives of those who followed would be immeasurable. And this is just the beginning of a series of these moments. For example, Howard Hughes' 1938 voyage to circle the northern hemisphere was accompanied by a watch of the same name. Longines has been there through so many of these major historical innovations, these changes in the very fundamental nature of flight, and there the brand remains, ready to take on the next phase of that very journey.
