Fresh outrage has erupted over remarks by Congress leader and MP from Karnataka’s Koppal, Rajashekar Hitnal , after he described the brutal gang assault and murder of tourists near Sanapur village as a “small incident.” The comments were made at a tourism event in Koppal district this week, referring to the assault of a 27-year-old Israeli tourist and a 29-year-old homestay operator, and the murder of a tourist from Odisha near Sanapur Lake in March 2025.
