Описание: We had originally planned to visit the Konark Sun Temple first, but suddenly we felt that we should begin our journey with the divine darshan of Jagannath Temple instead.

The Jagannath Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India and an important part of the Char Dham Yatra. Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, the temple holds immense spiritual significance and attracts millions of devotees every year. The energy, devotion, and faith you feel there are truly indescribable. We wanted to start our trip by seeking blessings first — and it turned out to be the best decision.

Our journey from Baramunda Bus Stop to Puri Bus Stand took around two and a half hours. We chose an AC bus, and the ticket cost ₹100 per person, which was quite affordable and comfortable for the distance.

After reaching Puri Bus Stand, we hired a toto (electric rickshaw) to reach the temple. The fare was ₹80. The temple area is always lively, filled with devotees, local vendors, and the sound of temple bells.

As soon as we arrived, the first thing we did was try the famous Dahi Vada. It is extremely popular here — soft and fluffy vadas soaked in chilled curd, topped with sweet and spicy chutneys and flavorful spices. One bite, and all the tiredness from the journey instantly disappeared.

After that, we headed straight towards the temple. Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside, so we had to leave our shoes and mobile phones outside. There are small tents and counters where you can safely deposit your belongings for a short time. The charge for keeping your items is ₹10.

The queue here is usually quite long, so it is better to arrive early in the morning to avoid heavy crowds. It took us almost two hours to complete the darshan and perform the पूजा (prayer rituals).

But the moment we finally had darshan, all the waiting and tiredness felt completely worth it. In that single moment, there was a deep sense of peace and fulfillment. 🙏

After seeking blessings, we left for Konark Sun Temple. We got a little late and unfortunately missed the sunset. However, we were lucky enough to witness the magnificent Light and Sound Show there. Under the night lights, the temple looked even more breathtaking and majestic. The illuminated carvings and the storytelling through lights made the experience unforgettable.

Now we are heading back, but one thing is certain — we will definitely return to Odisha again.
