In this video I am showing how to make "aircraft radar" based on android smartphone and RTL2832U based USB dongle (RTL-SDR).
The free software used is "Avare ADSB" from Google store which is probably based on "dump1090" ( http://www.satsignal.eu/raspberry-pi/... ).
The frequency of ADSB is 1090 Mhz.
You don't actually need a decent antenna, simple "wine-cork" antenna is sufficient ( http://antirez.com/news/46 ) or it works on my telescope antenna (30% CRC errors). On antenna from aliexpress/ebay on 1090MHz band I am getting messages from 200km away airplanes (25% CRC errors).

PS. The application is working just fine, there is no problem with dongle connectivity. This app can send data to external database so this is why the message "verify communication with Avare" was showing up.
