4 fantastic sport climbing crags near Gothenburg in Sweden

In this sport climbing video I have collected four sport climbing spots east of Gothenburg that I can highly recommend

Gothenburg in Sweden is all granite rock and most crags boasts some big and spectacular features!

The first sport climbing crag is about a 50 minutes drive east of Gothenburg. Here you will find Seglora, which is a really great sport climbing crag in Sweden! Seglora offers a wide variety of sport climbing routes from overhangs to face and slab – and some of the routes are pretty boulder-ish! Such as the 6c’s, Svartenbrandt and Delikatessen, that I gave a shot!

My friend gave the 7c, “Hybrid”, a go, and I have made a separate sport climbing video specifically on that – so check that out after you’ve finished watching this video!

The second sport climbing crag is Korpaberget. The main event at Korpaberget is the massive overhang that offers some really fun routes and athletic routes! But there are also other less pumpy sport climbing routes at Korpaberget such as Indianen at 6b+ and Cowboyen at 7a

One of my friends gave the 7b, “Komet” a shot, and I have shot a separate video about that project.

Korpaberget is well-bolted as I would say is a general thing at the sport climbing crags around Gothenburg. So, you will always feel protected

The third sport climbing crag near Gothenburg in Sweden I can recommend is Aspen. This is a really great all-round crag with loads of nice climbs. Aspen is properly more for the intermediate sport climber as there is only a few grade 5 sport climbing route here. But, if you are up for sport climbing 6b to 7b, then there are a lot of sport climbing options at Aspen to choose from!

Finally, you should pay the small crag, Norsesund, a visit! This small crag features one main sector, but with some interesting sport climbing routes.

The classic here is Digitigrade at grade 6c, a pumpy overhanging start that eases into a delicate face climb at the top! But you should also give Siluett at 6b+ and Bruno at 6a+ a shot!

If you are a sport climbing beginner, then Norsesund is a fine to place to start. Here there are a decent amount of grade 5 and low-end grade 6 routes. Actually, we brought Jakob, an indoor climber, who have never climbed outdoors before to Norsesund to try out the Swedish granite.

And if sport climbing isn’t your thing, then there are very good crack climbing spots in Bohuslän – but that is for another video!
