I love how accessible these tools can be and easy + effective to add in to vagal tone and help release emotion, & create a more resilient nervous system.These simple sounds can help stimulate our vagus nerve which is the 10th cranial nerve and the largest nerve in our parasympathetic nervous system.
Our Parasympathetic Nervous System is our rest-digest-healing and draining (lymph draining) mode.
Our Sympathetic Nervous System is our fight-flight-freeze mode.
What can happen is our nervous system can become less resilient and we can have low vagal tone.
This can look like more things setting us off, wanting to burst out in tears, the feeling of frozen or numb, anxious for the “little” things etc.
By adding in vagal toning activities, similar to these, we can help our nervous system be able to take on more daily stressors without the negative effects (more resilient).
