A Seagull & Clouds - Flying Beagle (Captain Chef Remaster)

Описание: In March 2018, ‪@ccchefccheffchefff‬ uploaded his very rare vinyl press of the album Flying Beagle from 1987, made by Himiko Kikuchi to his channel. It being so rare and obscure, captain chef's upload of the album remained essentially the only upload of the album whatsoever until 2024. This was problematic because his turntable was playing the album at the wrong speed. All the songs on captain chef's upload of the album are played roughly 1.93% quicker than they are supposed to. This led many people including myself to unknowingly fall in love with the album playing at this quicker speed and higher pitch than intended. When the CD rip started circulating and a 2024 repress of the CD came out, the clean audio quality blew me away, but the songs at their original pitch felt, well, flat. Relistening to the captain chef uploads reminded me how great those versions sound, with the out-of-tune instruments adding to the music's ethereal charm.

The purpose of my remaster was to combine my preferred out-of-tune version of the song with the higher quality of the CD release. This was made by speeding up the 1987 CD (the CD is more common than the album but still relatively hard to find) in Audacity. I own both CD's, but the 2024 one was engineered very poorly and peaks an insane amount leading to a loss in quality. Even disregarding the peaking, I think that the difference between the two versions is negligible.
