The TVK government led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay introduced a resolution in the Tamil Nadu Assembly urging the Union government to withdraw the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, in its present form. School Education Minister Rajmohan said the proposed provisions could affect the autonomy of charitable organisations, particularly educational and social welfare institutions run by minorities. The resolution called for any amendment to uphold natural justice, proportionality, property rights, legitimate expectations and federalism.
