To address this, I often recommend a neck lift over liposuction. A neck lift allows me to contour all seven layers of the neck—skin, underlying fat, platysma muscle, submandibular glands, and subplatysmal fat—resulting in a beautifully defined neckline.

While liposuction can offer modest improvements in the right candidate (young, no extra skin, no stretch marks), it may not provide the dramatic results some are hoping for. In fact, attempting to achieve significant results with liposuction alone can lead to less-than-ideal outcomes, like trading a full neck for wrinkly skin.
