As of June 2017, Hartford has approximately 330 buses between two facilities. Because the original Leibert Road garage can only support up to 250 buses, a second facility 2 miles to the northwest was purchased, where DATTCO used to have their Hartford facility.
The current plan to retire most 2004 New Flyer models, all 2001-2003 New Flyer models from Hartford, New Haven, New Britain, Stamford, New London/Norwich, Norwalk and Waterbury, and begin the era of 5th generation buses, comprised of New Flyer Xcelsiors, and Gillig Low Floors. New Haven is currently in line to receive their diesel Xcelsiors (around 50), and by decade's end, most if not all of Connecticut will be running buses compliant with EPA regulations set as far as 2010.
