Californians flee flames in their cars

Описание: THE death toll from the devastating Californian wildfires jumped today as flames closed in on the £18million mansion of Simon Cowell.

Authorities called in a mobile DNA lab and anthropologists to identify the dead from two raging wildfires – which saw 300,000 flee in terror.

What we know so far:
Death toll at 31 with more than -200 unaccounted for
The fire has burned more than 130 square miles since Thursday
An estimated 250,000 people have been forced to flee
The count of destroyed homes remained at 177 but it was expected to increase
Strong Santa Ana winds returned to Southern California on Sunday, causing flare-ups

Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus was also affected by the blaze and confirmed her house "no longer stands".

She tweeted: "Completely devastated by the fires affecting my community. I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now.

"My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong."

Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Will Smith also fled.
