A critical exploration of cannabis product potency in Canada, this webinar delves into a landmark study spearheaded by Supra Research and Development's Rob O’Brien, along with seven other licensed analytical testing laboratories across Canada.
The focus of this study was to objectively assess the THC levels in a variety of cannabis products – dried flower, non-infused and infused pre-rolls – available on the Canadian market. The study's findings highlight significant discrepancies between the THC levels claimed on product labels and the actual content determined through laboratory testing.
This comprehensive analysis involved sampling 16 brands of 3.5 g dried flower products, 4 brands of non-infused pre-rolls, and 15 brands of infused pre-rolls. The research utilized a variance range similar to federal cannabis regulations: 25% for dried flower and pre-rolls, and a stricter 15% for infused pre-rolls. Astonishingly, over half of the dried flower samples were found to be more than 25% below their label claims, with some exceeding a 40% deficit.
This webinar will present these striking results, underscoring the prevalent issue of THC inflation and label inconsistency in the Canadian cannabis industry. There will be a 30 minute Q&A with the panelists, so that attendees can learn more about the study methods and implications of these results.
