*Soon to pass to TUK + Curtail* Journey on Bus Route 493 Go-Ahead London (SE181 | SN12 AUV)

Описание: In this video, I take a ride on Route 493 between Wimbledon High Street and Wimbledon Village (High Street).

The 493 is operated by Go-Ahead London with a PVR of 16 buses. The route runs between Tooting, St George's Hospital and Richmond, and is operated out of Go-Ahead London's Merton (AL) Bus Garage.

Soon and very soon, on the 28th March 2026, the route will be passing to Transport UK with new electrics introduced.

You know what that means, guys. Time is up for Enviro200s on this route! Get your rides in while you still can.

That said, what can I testify about with the 493? It's a decent route, and gets nice especially around the Putney Heath area. The section where it joins those fast roads around Tibbet's Ride Bus Stop is also quite cool (headed for Richmond only). Elsewhere, the route is pretty standard and trafficated, especially around Sheen and Richmond so much so that a lot of routes curtail in the peak times.

This journey was no exception in terms of curtailments. Due to late running, the bus I was on was only going as far as Wimbledon Village from Tooting SGH, which is a shame as the bus I was on was already quite busy so imagine what I have to go through trying to get in the 2nd bus.
