Join Dr. Joshua Sinai as he covers how Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) is used in security studies to assess the overall risk challenging a country, its critical infrastructure, or even a corporation that broadly faces a spectrum of threats. The ESRM methodology operationalizes Risk as a function of Threats (by an attacker), Vulnerabilities (to be attacked), and Consequences (of being attacked). Once the overall risk is assessed and scored, this will enable security personnel to prioritize the allocation of protective resources to mitigate the risk in a cost-effective way.
This webinar presentation will apply the ESRM methodology to several case studies, such as risks presented by terrorism, pandemics, and cyberattacks.
Our presenter is one of the nation's experts on counterterrorism. Dr. Joshua Sinai is a Professor of Practice for Intelligence and Global Security (IGS) Studies at Capitol Technology University. He directs the IGS and Counterterrorism degree programs for Capitol. He has published numerous articles on these issues and serves as the Book Reviews Editor for the quarterly journal "Perspectives on Terrorism."
