The A La Louisiane started it's life as the house cocktail of the De La Louisiane Creole restaurant in New Orleans which has been open since 1881. It is meant to represent the multicultural melting pot that is New Orleans with Ingredients from America (Rye Whiskey), Sweet Vermouth (Italy) and Absinthe (France). It's pretty obvious that this drink was influenced not only by the Sazerac but also by the Vieux Carre. It is in fact a cross of the two drinks, but has become a great cocktail in its own right. This drink is like a Tarantino Movie, although it is heavily influenced by cocktails which came before it, it has definitely found it's own style. Hope you guys enjoy this one! Cheers!
