Materials used were 2 pieces of PVC pipe (one piece smaller in diameter to fit inside the other pipe) and a spring push button. I got my clip from hoopsupplies.com. Mine where just around 5 foot each. If you want to make the traditional flag pole you'll also need 2 eyelet bots with nuts and small carabiners that will fit your flag. To "mount" your pole you can use a piece of rebar in the ground and just sit the pipe over it or tie/strap it to something. If you are tailgating you should be able to just slip it down in one of the stake pocket holes in your truck bed.
