“Gracias” is Spanish for “Thank you”.

The composition GRACIAS was originally written for my Madison Middle School beginning band students.

Some music programs use recorders in their music programs as a great introduction to music. When I was teaching music in the public schools , and at church, I really enjoyed playing the recorder with my students, and in various recorder ensembles. So, I decided to arrange GRACIAS for recorder ensemble, with optional limited percussion.

It is my hope that GRACIAS will provide children, students, and adults, with a song that they will enjoy learning to play.

GRACIAS is dedicated to my family, friends, teachers, and the thousands of students who have influenced, inspired, and enriched my life.

Mr. Gazlay is a member of: ASCAP, NAfEA, Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators’ Association, The International Horn Society, The National Band Association, Handbell Musicians of America, American Recorder Society, and Pi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Recorders: Soprano Recorder, Alto Recorder, Tenor Recorder, Bass Recorder

Optional Percussion: Claves, Tambourine, Suspended Cymbal, Snare Drum, Bass Drum
