AMA Hoarding: How much insight is it reasonable to expect?

Описание: Resources for families and loved ones of persons who hoard (PWH) are hard to find. As a family member and clinical social worker, I enjoy taking opportunities to create free resources to help fill the gaps.

I recently received a request:
"What degree of insight or understanding of the disorder and their behaviors can we expect someone with hoarding disorder to reasonably have? Like on a continuum, with maybe psychosis/delusion/disconnect from reality on one side, and then the other side being total awareness into the behaviors, where would hoarding disorder typically fall?"
