What started off as an investigation of highway schemes to create lucrative insurance pay-off truck accidents has evolved into an extensive and dramatic federal trial that includes a former Hollywood stuntwoman, a now disbarred lawyer and a murder victim. Federal officials refer to the case as “Operation Sideswipe.”
In a far different court, a new archbishop faces the reality that legal and professional fees in the clergy sex abuse case are said to be approaching $60 million.
We will be looking at these stories as well as spring flooding in parts of uptown New Orleans, though not caused from above by heavy rains but from below by broken pipes.
Elsewhere, Northeast Louisiana is bracing for a flood of activity, and controversy, as the Artificial Intelligence industry establishes a major presence there.
And locally, though Carnival this year was very successful, some city officials have thrown fits about how some maskers throw throws.
