Today we rode our e-bikes into the Century Rio tunnel near the Century Rio 24 Plex and XD by Interstate 25 in Albuquerque.
Riding with Joey and Israel, we set out to explore this large square tunnel, which is known locally as a place people generally avoid entering.
Right from the entrance, the tunnel was filled with trash, debris, and a strong odor that made it difficult to stay inside for long.
As we pushed further in, we came across a large encampment that completely blocked the path forward. A voice from inside warned us not to continue, so we made the decision to turn around to avoid any confrontation.
We then attempted to explore a smaller round tunnel nearby, but conditions were even worse and the tunnel led to a dead end with no exit.
This ride didn’t go as planned, and we decided it wasn’t worth the risk to continue further.
