I had the pleasure of meeting Astrid while attending one of her willow-weaving workshops in Moanmore, Co. Clare, December 2025. It was an experience layered with craft, calm, and a touch of the old magic.
Afterwards, I wandered on toward Loop Head Lighthouse, and as the light began to fade, I settled for the night along the coast road beside the village of Kilbaha. Few things soothe the spirit like watching the Atlantic breathe — waves rising and falling, crashing against the stones as if the sea itself were telling stories older than any of us.
Among Astrid’s many gifts is her harp playing — a sound that seems to carry the same pull as the tide, something ancient in it, something that settles the mind. With her permission, I set her music as a backdrop to the sea at Kilbaha.
I hope it brings someone else the same quiet peace it brought me.
