The book shows how to create beautiful patterns using mathematical techniques and then to embellish those mathematical constructs into works of art. The specific application in this book is creating patterns that have traditionally been associated with sacred topics.

The book follows a logical sequence starting with describing the tools and supplies you will need and then starting with the very basic shapes, circles and lines.

Each chapter is richly illustrated in vibrant, four color prints. The book itself is sturdy and perfect bound so that you can fold the pages to reference a particular page while in the midst of painting.

The application chapters (there are five of them) start with a specific sacred shape (seed of life, flower of life, metatron's cube, and the torus) and shows the various other symbols that can be extrapolated from the base form.

Interspersed with the newly derived, mathematical patterns are very practical "drawing techniques" sections.

Overall, I am very impressed with this book, and its clear message, math and art are not enemies, but twins that work best together.

I really liked this book, and I highly recommend it.
