“What are your thoughts on transferring a ‘no-result’ embryo without re-biopsy? The only other option is a mosaic.” 🧬
Great question—and one we hear often. A “no-result” means the embryo didn’t yield enough DNA to complete genetic testing, so we don’t know if it’s normal or abnormal. It doesn’t mean it’s bad—it just means we don’t have an answer.
In some cases, transferring a no-result embryo can be a reasonable option, especially if your only other embryo is mosaic. But it’s important to weigh the risks, discuss it with your doctor, and consider re-biopsy if it’s possible.
Rebiopsing an embryo is not without risk of embryo damage of failure to survive another freeze/thaw cycle and we don’t take this decision lightly. This is why every case is unique—and decisions like this deserve personalized care and thoughtful discussion. 💬💜
