KAMLOOPS — The BC Cattlemen’s Association (BCCA), in partnership with Thompson Rivers University (TRU), has released a new video showcasing on-ranch experiences that connect ranchers with students and young workers in British Columbia’s cow-calf sector.
The video brings together the voices of ranchers and students to show how hands-on work placements support recruitment, retention, and skills development in a sector facing ongoing workforce challenges.
Developed as part of the Cow-Calf Sector Recruitment, Retention and Skills Development Joint Project, the video focuses on real experiences from BC ranches. Ranchers speak to the value of welcoming students onto their operations, while students reflect on the skills, confidence, and
perspective they gain through practical work in a working ranch environment.
