দেশে ডলারের তুলনায় টাকার মান কমছে। গত দেড় বছরে ডলারের দাম বেড়েছে প্রায় ২৩ টাকা। এই সময়ে প্রবাসীরা আশঙ্কায় ছিলেন কোথায় বিনিয়োগ করলে তাদের জন্য ভালো হবে। যেহেতু নিয়মিত ডলারের দাম বাড়ছে, তাই তারা বন্ডে বিনিয়োগ না করে ব্যাংকিং চ্যানেলে রেমিট্যান্স পাঠিয়েছেন। কারণ, ব্যাংকিং চ্যানেলে রেমিট্যান্স পাঠালে সরকার আড়াই শতাংশ (২.৫) প্রণোদনা দেয়। এছাড়া যাদের সুযোগ ছিল, তাদের অনেকে বিদেশেই বিনিয়োগ করেছেন।
