About Katharina Pistor
Katharina Pistor is the Edwin B. Parker Professor of Comparative Law at Columbia Law School and director of the Law School's Center on Global Legal Transformation. Her work spans comparative law and corporate governance, law and finance, and law and development. Her most recent book is "The Law of Capitalism and How to Transform It" (2025), Yale University Press.
Discussant: Maria Schweinberger
Maria C. Schweinberge is a capital markets and restructuring attorney who advises underwriters, sponsors, and issuers on debt, equity, and complex financial transactions across the EMEA region. Her work focuses on the intersection of public and private interests in financial markets, including sovereign debt restructurings and systemic risk, the subject of her Ph.D. on the too-big-to-fail problem.
