Many of you watching this will know me from my website KoineGreek.com, but my main field of expertise is actually Biblical Hebrew. And so, for a number of reasons, I’m really excited to announce that it’s finally time to launch a website with resources for learning Biblical Hebrew as a living language at BiblicalHebrew.com. So what sort of resources are we talking about?

Intuitive video lessons to learn Biblical Hebrew immersion style
Similar lessons for related languages, like Ugaritic, Aramaic, and Akkadian
Cartoons of biblical stories in Biblical Hebrew
Doing the news in Biblical Hebrew
Recordings of ancient Hebrew inscriptions in ancient pronunciation
Recordings of texts from the Dead Sea Scrolls
A podcast on Biblical Hebrew language and pedagogy
and more!

Now not all of this is ready yet, I’m still building it, but I’m super excited about this and can’t wait to launch the website. But, I need to ask for help first. Because what I am hoping to do is to make all of these learning resources available for FREE under a Creative Commons license, so that wherever you are in the world, if you want to learn, teach, use them in different contexts, DOWNLOAD them (with proper device and internet connection), you can do that without worry.

But in order to be able to offer all of these resources for FREE, I need the help of generous givers out there who can get behind something like this, making quality Biblical Hebrew resources available FREE for people around the world. And if enough people give—if we hit our target goal within the next 30 days—I will launch the website with the resources I’m building available for FREE under a Creative Commons license. So, if you like this idea and can offer a bit of help, I would be very thankful, and it would help get Biblical Hebrew resources to many.
