I will guide you to reach this place if you are coming by local transport. Anyhow you have to take bus which are going through Hoskote toll plaza. You have to come down to Huskur Kodi bus stop. You can get bus from Tin Factory to avoid crossing the road after getting down to Huskur Kodi. I have taken 317A no bus and reach there by 6:30 at morning. After getting down walking through the service road for 3 minutes towards toll plaza , you will get one small cut on left after crossing a small bridge. that dusty road will lead you to the Lake.

In Bangaluru outskirts there are lot of lakes and grassland which is the major habitat of uncountable local and migratory birds. Today I’m gonna talk about Hoskote Lake which is one of the best birding paradise in Karnataka which consists of water body, wetlands and grassland. 3 different habitats are the reason for getting this much of birds from this particular place.

I would suggest take a walk through the road to reach the lake. The rounded belt around the lake is around 2 km only. You will experience the most beautiful weather and pleasant greenery in early morning. On the way you will find ample number of warblers. Also you will find Brahminy kite, Eurasian marsh harrier, Glossy ibis, Booted eagle, Purple heron, Grey heron, Spot billed duck, White cheeked barbet, Spot-billed pelican, Painted stork and many more. All the way you will get birds chirping which will gives you high level of peace.

Even though I haven’t gone in winter or monsoon which are considered as the season for best birding experience, but March did not disappointed me at all. Rather it gave me uncountable amount of birds species which surprises me a lot .

Apart from the pleasant blue water and beautiful grassland, another attraction of this place is Gangamma Devi temple which remains open in morning time.

It is suggested that carry some dry food and water while going to this place.
