Описание: Presentation at the first in-person workshop of GloBIAS in November 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Part of the session on Building the GloBIAS society: interfacing with other networks/associations (networking) Despite the growing awareness of bioimage analysis in the West, it remains relatively underappreciated in the East. While there are numerous websites and online tutorials available for bioimage analysis, the predominance of English content poses a barrier for non-English speakers. In this talk, I will outline the current bioimage analysis ecosystem in Taiwan, discussing how bioimage analysis is perceived and how core facilities collaborate with experimental scientists. I will also share my experiences teaching bioimage analysis in Taiwan, highlighting the challenges and potential future developments in building a bioimage analysis community in Taiwan and East Asia more broadly.
