Описание: "1962 Radar And It’s Applications" - This 1962, 40-minute, US Army Training Film (T.F.11-3165), provides an overview of the development of radar beginning with the British “Chain Home” system used to detect German bombers during WW 2. During the film a number of General Electric radars are discussed: the SCR-584 Artillery Tracking Radar produced at the Thompson Road Plant during WW 2; the FPS-6 and FPS-8 radars used during the Cold War; the SAGE System with a major Command Center at Hancock Field; the FPS-17 BMEWS System; the huge FPS-24 radar; the Atlas Missile Radio Guidance System, and the MPQ-4 Mortar Locator Radar used during the Korean War. The last portion of the film speculates on future radar development – with a few “hits” and many “misses.”
