Along with other fighting techniques and actual contact sparring, each student level for the Shillelagh/Cane is designed to give a student good hand movement, footwork, advancing and retreating striking and defensive skills.
Student Levels 1-10 end in live combat sparring with an opponent who is actually trying to defeat your attacks and strike you back with power. Knowing your technique will work against a resisting opponent is key to understanding if your training is practical.
