I first heard this song on the radio as a teenager… but I didn’t catch any title or name. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and the feeling haunted me for months.
I can still remember exactly where I was when that three count strum found me again- I can not describe my excitement. Like finding something important that was lost.
And so it began…
The first time I saw Elliott Smith live was my first time in a club/bar (albeit in the basement where it was all-ages). My mom dropped me off. It was nothing short of magical.
The last time I saw Elliott Smith was the last show he ever played…
2:45am was the first ever song I attempted to play guitar and sing at the same time. I owe him a lot…

P.S. hey charlie- remember that time in high school when you convinced me to be your partner for your social dance final and we waltzed to waltz#2? …we practiced and practiced and in the end messed it all up and you got a bad grade :)
