Train Simulator 2020: AP Class 168/170/171 EP | Gerrard’s Cross to London Marylebone

Описание: An ad hoc release this time; a requested video covering some of the Chiltern Mainline. Today we’re onboard an Armstrong Powerhouse Class 172 for this 40-odd minute journey from Gerrard’s Cross to London Marylebone. Part of the request was to have an FPS readout which you’ll see in the top left of the screen with some other info. You can see how, at times, the game engine is using frustratingly little of the resources it has available. Also note that my FPS is capped at 58. I’ve also changed my settings slightly since I released my settings video, if there’s a demand I’ll happily redo that.

To this video though - In all honesty, Chiltern Mainline is not Just Trains finest work. It seems to somehow be hugely resource intensive (whilst not using what’s available) and not look brilliant all at the same time. I had tried to record a video covering Birmingham Moor Street to London but the FPS is so poor to the North of Banbury that it would simply have been too painful to watch ~ 20FPS average. Both that, and another scenario I tried repeatedly caused the game to dump too. That said, the Southern half of the route seems to fair a bit better but I’ve no idea why, as it is way more detailed.

It’s a real shame as there are some nice custom models on the route (Marylebone looks great for example), it’s just that the actual scenery is low quality, a bit repetitive and just not very good. This though, isn’t actually too bad a run (and the FPS is reasonable) so I hope you enjoy it!
