Strategy:
T1: If you get hit with Ruination, use Morning Sun, then wait until the 2nd Haze before proceeding
T2-T4: 3x Acid Spray
T5: Terastalize, Overheat (if you miss, or your inputs are too slow, and the 2nd Haze happens before you can land Overheat, repeat 3x Acid Spray and try again)

Notes: assuming fairly optimal input speed, you have about 5 seconds to land overheat before the 2nd haze. an expert belt works too, but the 4 hit KO is not guaranteed (though you can easily finish with 1 more hit if needed). it does have one advantage which is that since there is no clock time lost to the booster energy animation, if you get targeted by ruination, you have time to use morning sun before the 1st haze.

Pros: supereffective tera type matching base type, decent defense stat, phenomenal special attack stat, outspeeds (preventing flinches from icicle crash, normally 27% chance), no weaknesses, resists ice shard and icicle crash, resists sacred sword before terastalizing, acid spray debuffs special defense 2 stages through shield while charging tera orb, morning sun heals by 50% of max HP, overheat has 130 base power, 90 accuracy, and deals supereffective tera-boosted STAB damage when terastalized. booster energy activates quark drive, giving iron moth a 1.3x special attack boost that is not impacted by haze.

Cons: mediocre HP stat. overheat misses 10% of the time and debuffs your special attack 2 stages when it lands (though if strategy is followed correctly a hit should always KO chien-pao).
