Not quite basic foam smithing

Описание: In this video I go over some slightly more advanced foam smithing techniques. I explain cutting foam at an angle, cutting a channel into foam to allow folding, and how to cut foam to bend it.

Bevel cutting
This is a relatively simple technique. Holes the exacto knife at an angle and cut the foam. This is much easier with a bevel cutter. It's a device that holds the blade at a 45 degree angle.

Foam folding
This is a slightly complicated technique. It can be done using either an exacto knife or a bevel cutter. Hold the blade at an angle and cut about halfway through the foam. Then turn the foam and make another angled cut. If done right you'll make a V shaped cut in the foam. Then you can remove the foam between the cuts. This will allow you to fold the foam.

Foam bending
This is where it gets challenging. First measure and draw the desired foam piece. Then draw a curve that begins and ends at two of the corners of the first piece. Draw the rest of the second piece as you wish. Carve the pieces out. Attach the pieces together beginning with the corners. Then slowly attach the rest of the edges.
