Do all IVF patients need PGT (Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing)?
👉 The answer is no — not everyone needs it.
What is PGT?
It’s a technique where we genetically test embryos in the IVF lab before transferring them to the uterus. Even if an embryo looks top-quality under the microscope, it may still have chromosomal abnormalities that can’t be seen visually.
PGT helps us identify:
✔️ Which embryos are chromosomally normal (euploid)
✔️ Which ones are abnormal (aneuploid) and should not be transferred
This is especially useful for:
• Women above age 38
• Couples with multiple IVF failures
• Patients with recurrent miscarriages
For these patients, PGT significantly improves chances of:
✅ Successful implantation
✅ Healthy pregnancy
✅ Reduced risk of miscarriage
