The 2025 Tundra TRD Pro is a big, American-made pickup truck with a whole lot of Toyota logos, and the first-generation Tundra debuted in 1998 at the Indiana State Fair. Toyota called it “one of the most important vehicles introduced in the 41 years they’d sold cars and trucks in America,” and the company also said it would build the truck in Indiana. When production began in May of 1999, Toyota said the Tundra became the first full-size pickup truck built by a Japanese automaker in North America.

The Tundra is more than 25 years old, but it’s only been through three generations. The second debuted in 2007 and production moved to Texas, where it remains today.

The second-gen truck is what I, and probably everyone else, thinks of when they think of the Tundra. It’s that 2010s-era Toyota styling with the rounded trapezoid headlights and matching grille, and it’s so recognizable because it lasted about 15 years. That’s an eternity for a car generation. This current third generation of the Tundra debuted in 2021 with angrier headlights and a new, boxier styling.

This 2025 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro has a 3.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid engine that makes 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. That power goes through a 10-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels, because this truck is four-wheel drive with an electronically locking rear differential for off-roading. If you want to find a Toyota truck for sale with a manual transmission in America, you’ll have to go Tacoma.

The hybrid Tundra models are called the i-Force MAX, and as of this video, the TRD Pro is the second-most expensive i-Force Max trim with a starting price of $72,510 USD. After options and fees on the build of this truck, the total price comes to $77,276. It’s no base model, and it certainly doesn’t have a base-model price!
