Eurovision 2025 - The longest Turquoise Carpet in Eurovision history!
The Turquoise Carpet is a long-standing Eurovision tradition, serving as the official Opening Ceremony that marks the beginning of the Eurovision Song Contest live show week.
In 2025, all 37 competing acts will be formally welcomed to Basel during the Turquoise Carpet event at the historic Basel Rathaus. Welcome speeches will be delivered by Conradin Cramer, President of the Basel Government, along with representatives from SRG SSR and the European Broadcasting Union.
Following the carpet walk, the artists will travel from Marktplatz aboard vintage trams to Riehenring, next to the Eurovision Village. There, they will give interviews and continue the celebrations.
This year’s Turquoise Carpet event will be the most expansive yet, taking participants on a 1.3-kilometre journey through the heart of Basel.
